Nope, we don’t need another show. We don’t need more divisive “us versus them” talk. Most of us are looking for a place to belong, to heal, to grow, and to live on purpose. Here’s the good news: following Jesus together gives us all those things. At Discovery, you will be equipped to follow Jesus in your real, ordinary, everyday life.
Curiosity and discovery are essential for human growth. They help us explore new ideas, adapt to change, and deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world. The same is true for Jesus—our curiosity about Him invites us to discover His love, truth, and grace in deeper ways.
These three discoveries
represent the heart of our mission as a church. We seek to help others discover Jesus, Community & Mission.
Discovery is passionate about making room for the skeptical, the curious, and those burnt out on playing church. There is no bait-and-switch here — we want to see our neighbors, co-workers, family members (and you) experience the saving love of God.
Come as you are, and expect to be challenged, as we learn and grow alongside one another. God has plans for every part of your life — both your identity and your activity — so we trust him to change us from the inside out as we follow Him together.
We don’t want to be a place where you just consume content and experiences, but where you are developed into the leader God has called you to be. We want you to be equipped for the incredible things he is inviting you into
We love God, each other, and Utah—especially Murray, Salt Lake City, and the entire valley. We seek to do good for all our neighbors, regardless of their beliefs or needs. We strive to be a community that consistently looks outward, serving wholeheartedly, as a church that meets the needs of those around us.
We are a gospel-centered community that celebrates the life, death, resurrection and teachings of Jesus. Take a look at our beliefs page for more detail.
It depends on what you’ve heard. 😉 Here’s the deal — all the important stuff is weird stuff, it just so happens to be completely true. We believe Jesus isn’t just an inspiring historical figure, but the Son of God who lived a perfect life and died in our place for our sins so we can be forgiven. We believe that he rose from the dead so we can rise to new life, too — and that one day he’s coming back to fix everything that is broken in the world and wipe every tear from every eye. We also believe the Holy Spirit can bring miraculous healing into your life, often in unexpected ways — that’s weird, and wonderful. Again, it’s all weird stuff — but it’s true, and it might just change your everything.
Yes. This is a great of example of how Discovery is a “both/and” community (as opposed to “either/or.”) We love blowing up false dichotomies. We study Scripture deeply and invite the Spirit to move among us. We trust the sovereignty of God and pray for miraculous healing. We equip each other to share our faith and seek justice in our city. You get the idea.
We are committed to being a family made up of different generations, backgrounds, ethnicities and abilities. Unity in the midst of diversity is a big part of God’s Kingdom, and one we celebrate. (Translation: there is a place for you and the people you care about here.)
We’re getting together this Sunday,

Since church is not a building, event, or institution, we believe that profound experiences happen in living rooms and coffee shops as often as they do in crowded auditoriums.
